Next thing I know, you and YF are going to tell me this is not political, but is really about her fine work as Stanford's provost.

Is that as strong as OJ saying "he's going to find the killer"?

Hugh Hewitt -- apologies to Jay Farrar for raising yet another name he's unfamiliar with -- spent the first hour of his show yesterday just hammering away at Goodell. Said he was dumb, and had to go. He predicted he'd be gone soon.

He also suggested Condi Rice as his replacement.

I resisted getting into this yesterday.

See, you witness all of the political posts I do make. You never see the ones I self censor!

If named commissioner, would Rice have to resign from the college playoff selection committee?

If Goodell is fired or resigns due to this, who does replace him? Because of the circumstances, it can't be one of his top deputies, which is what's happened in the top job of each league in recent turnovers.

The guys who were also up for the MLB job are so directly tied to MLB, I don't see them getting it.

Even outside counsel could be tainted by this, so it might not be some hot shot from Proskauer Rose.

Not trying to be clever, but I would think Condi would actually have a shot.

Source w/ intimate ties to NFL execs, says of report the NFL got Rice tape in April: "If that's true, it's over for a few different people."
