Due respect to Dick, he will not turn out to be right.

This will not, in any way, shape or form, end Ray Rice's career. I don't see how anyone can think differently given the actions taken so far.

The Mort Report, from this summer:

“I think the expectations from around the league — even from the Ravens internally — was that it would be more than two games,” Mortensen answered. “We’ve all seen the TMZ video of Ray dragging [his fiancée] off an elevator. I’m told by numerous sources — or, a few good sources — that the video from inside the elevator, which we’ve never seen, shows Janay surely attacking Ray, so he’s in a confined area. But still, what they tell you to do, is get away from it or restrain.

    Precisely.

We all saw him knock the fuck out of her in the first video. This is the same video, just longer and better quality.
There should have been just as much outrage then as now.

Yeah. The league is fucking liars.

Where's shockey with his Profiles In Courage look at Goodell?

We did not see that in the first video. We saw him dragging her after she was unconscious. As the post on this page note, the league had been working very hard to make her complicit in her lack of consciousness.

Time to pick up Bernard Pierce and Justin Forsett in all your fantasy leagues!

Probably will offer similar insight to what John Kruk did on Baseball Tonight after half of the 1993 Phillies were named in the Mitchell Report.

This guy works for Dan Patrick's show:

We emailed the NFL on August 4th asking them to confirm that they/commish did NOT see the Rice/elevator tape. We were told "no comment".

No we didn't. We just saw her being dragged out of the elevator. But my point is, and it's really just something that mildly annoyed/amused me today on social media, is that people (regular folks, not those associated with the league) are in full-on OUTRAGE mode as if they didn't know what happened in the elevator before today. My Facebook feed is on fire today.

The NFL and the Ravens, obviously, look horrendous today.

Sonner, you really don't think there was a story out there that Janay attacked him and this was mutual combat? I mean, Mort and Peter King were peddling that.

There was a belief at the time of the 2-game suspension that because there was no domestic violence language in the NFLPA that part of the reason the suspension was so light was so Rice and the Ravens wouldn't fight it, because if they did, there would be a good chance they'd get it overturned on a technicality. One would hope they, or the NFLPA would not fight it, but it wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.

Whether it's true or not, the NFL will have to maintain it hadn't seen the new video and maybe they get the suspension pushed to six games. The NFL is going to look horrible no matter what it does. Even if they went back and said, "This was an extreme situation, so you're gone for the season." People will wonder why this wasn't found out before the initial suspension came down.

I do. I remember hearing that. But I'm just referring to the everyday donks on Facebook. People who were rightfully outraged two months ago. People who believed then that Rice knocked her out. People who today are acting like they had no idea what happened in the elevator until now. I mean, I get that actually *seeing it* is downright disturbing and produces lots and lots of anger. But c'mon. We all knew what happened. It's just funny to me.
