It is not outside of the realm of possibility that Goodell loses his job over this. Harbaugh and Newsome, too.

People who partake in "social media OUTRAGE" are fucking idiots. Tear up the front.

Tony Stewart will lose his job before any of those things happen.

I never said it was surprising to me. Doesn't make it any less annoying/amusing, though.

Big Ragu reveres Goodell, as well.

I think this one is big not because of Rice but because it shows how corrupted the NFL is.

Schefter just called this "arguably the biggest black eye the league has ever had." The other candidate was playing three days after JFK was shot. (Total overreaction, but these guys are PISSED that they got taken for a ride.)

I doubt it. But the best thing they could do right now would be to cut Rice. It won't happen though. Even if they did, they would still look bad.

    Hey, remember this?

"Rice’s wife, a source said, made a moving and apparently convincing case to Goodell during a June 16 hearing at Goodell’s office in Manhattan—attended by Rice, GM Ozzie Newsome, club president Dick Cass of Baltimore; and Goodell, Jeff Pash and Adolpho Birch of the league—that the incident in the hotel elevator was a one-time event, and nothing physical had happened in their relationship before or since. She urged Goodell, the source said, to not ruin Rice’s image and career with his sanctions." -- Peter King, MMQB, July 25.

there were plenty of people paid to provide their opinions on sports shows and print who said 'we don't know what happened in that elevator'. Some folks were looking for any reason to snif a jock.

Aren't they broadcasting the Ravens' game in three days? That'll be an interesting backdrop.

The NFL is maintaining that it did not see the latest video until today.

From La Canfora: Ravens officials had not seen this Rice video prior to today, but had described actions in detail. Didn't "sugarcoat" it source said.
