Texas vs. TCU - Austin, Tx.
LSU vs. Rice - Baton Rouge, La.
North Carolina vs. East Carolina - Chapel Hill, NC.
CS-Fullerton vs. Louisville - Fullerton, CA.
Florida vs. Southern Miss - Gainesville, FL.
Mississippi vs. Virginia - Oxford, MS.
Florida State vs. Arkansas - Tallahasse, FL.
Arizona State vs. Clemson - Tempe, AZ.

    Who's everyone got?

I see Texas, LSU, North Carolina, CS-Fullerton, Florida, Virginia, Florida State and Arizona State advancing.

    Texas/TCU should be a dandy.
With Rice and Arky lurking, hearkens back to the highly-competitive-in-all-sports SWC days.
    I'll take:

TCU, Rice, ECU, Fullerton, USM, Ole Miss, FSU, Clempson

One thing I got a kick out was during the FSU-OSU game the other day was the fact that they were referring to Mike Martin as a "coaching legend".

I know he's been around forever and he's won a ton of games - but are you really a legend if you have never won a title and your teams seem to have a very long history of underachieving once they get into the NCAA Tournament?

Outing alert: Zag is a member of Seminole Boosters. :D

(Yes, they've asked that question, too.)

I was just wondering because it seems like almost every year they are a high seed but they seem to flame out -- like a lot of ACC teams.

As for who is winning this weekend......I don't know that I see any of the home teams losing but if one is going to, well, you know who it will be...... ;D

It's CSUF, 2mcm. But your sentiments are appreciated ;D.

That said, I see Texas, LSU, UNC, the TITANS, UF, OM (although UVa's dismissing of Irvine was impressive), FSU and Arizona St.

Anyone else find it strange only two Western teams are still alive?

It's impressive that Martin has been to the College World Series 13 times.
It's UNBELIEVABLE that he's never won the damn thing --- not even lucked into one --- during all those trips.

Best matchup? I'd say Rice/LSU. Two premier programs. It should be quite a show.

My winners are: TCU, LSU, ECU, Fullerton, UF, UVA, FSU and Clemson.

It's amazing that Mississippi has two teams in the final 16. It's also amazing that C-USA has two teams in the Super Regionals.

Southern Miss has made a great run for Corky and I think it's safe to say freshman sensation B.A. Vollmuth likes Georgia Tech's stadium a great deal (three dingers). But I just really don't see them having a chance against Florida.

UVA is playing its baseball of the season and made it to a Super out of what I thought was the toughest regional on the board. I don't see the Johnny Rebs beating them either, especially with Scott Bittle's status up in the air. But if Pomeranz throws like he did on Monday, the Rebels might get it done.
