UVA coach Brian O'Connor putting a lot of eggs in one basket in Oxpatch.

Game tied at 2, top of the sixth, first two Rebs walk. Nobody out.

Exit, stage left, UVA starter Robert Morey, who hasn't given up a hit since Logan Power's two-run tater in the first.

In comes righty Andrew Carraway, the presumed Game 3 starter, to face Ole Miss catcher Kyle Henson.

Can't say as I blame him.

The Tar Heels are just loaded with offense. A seven spot inn the sixth inning and a 9-1 lead over East Carolina. UNC still hasn't had a close NCAA game in the tournament.

Make the trip during the school year, Moddy, if you know what I mean. (And I'm sure you do.)

That doesn't happen until Omaha, because their regionals are so weak. Then they lose.

That certainly has been the pattern, which hopefully changes.

Careful, OD ... that could cause some idiots in purple to Hulk up and go after you. ;)

Here's some advice, then, for coach Fox: Practice fielding bunts. Practice running the bases. Teams in Omaha are far better than those you see all year, especially in nonconference.

Can't count how many times in the past three years in Omaha Carolina has misplayed bunts, or had runners thrown out at home/third/second/caught in rundowns.

SM51: There are lots of Pirates fans in Chapel Hill for the game. For some reason they are making very little noise.

Not looking good for two other ACC teams: Florida State and Virginia need rallies.

Stallings - the men's basketball coach at Vandy? - doesn't his kid play for UNC?

    Yes. He's a freshman catcher.

good thing I've got ESPNU, since for most of the afternoon and night, ESPN's showing damn Nationwide qualifying and hours and hours of horse racing pregame coverage

This Arkansas-FSU game is pretty good, but I wish I could flip to ESPN2 and see Ole Miss-UVA where I am (one state over). Nope, six hours of Belmont Stakes.
