They're too busy stabbing their Billy Godwin dolls to produce much noise. And Terry Holland is probably taking a lot of notes.

Heckuva game between Florida State and Arky.

Tied 7-7 in the top of the ninth.

And so long Florida State. It just wouldn't be college baseball season if the Seminoles were to win a championship.

Arkansas - Florida State was crazy entertaining.
FSU takes the 8-7 lead after being down 7 to 5. Arkansas, the home team, has the bottom the ninth to rally and that's exactly what they do. With two on, dude hits a shot to the wall and both runs score for the walkoff.
Arkansas wins, 9-8, and eliminates Florida State as the Piggies advance to the College World Series.
BTW, can anyone explain why the FSU fans sing " Oh Canada" during the game and wave Canadian flags?

From an LSU message board, unsure of source but seems plausible.

As long as we're getting to the bottom of weirdo college traditions, anyone know why Ole Miss had SNATCH written on their hats yesterday?

Because if they finally made the CWS, they were going to get plenty of it from the fine ladies of Oxford?

Well, then, I'd advertise it too. I'd shout it from the rooftops if I took up with an Ole Miss girl.

As I recall, the Animals serenaded an opposing player who happened to be Canadian. Turned out to be a big inning for Florida State, so now it's a tradition.

    Must not have worked today.

And yes, it is the fifth inning.

The whole story might be in sectionb.com somewhere.

Too lazy to edit my post so I'll just add..

From http://www.sectionb.com/songbook/ocanada.htm (That'd be the Section B Animals):

"Note: “O Canada” has become the rally song of the fifth inning, sung whenever Florida State bats in the fifth. There are many, many rumors as to how this tradition was started, so it just depends on whom you ask. A Canadian flag was added to the Animals in 1991, and is now raised whenever the anthem is sung. We even sing “O Canada” in French from time to time if the mood hits us just right. It’s become such a well-known tradition that even the organist at the ACC Tournament when it’s in Durham, NC plays the anthem whenever FSU bats in the 5th inning."

4-0 fullerton, top of first. L'ville looks like it has never seen a baseball before. Cardinals will blame the umpires, but the only bad call I saw was the balk. That wasn't a balk.

I'm laughin' my ass off here -- kudos, Batman -- but a student journalist here at Ole Miss (what, you got somethin' against makin' money, kid?) sez it's snatch the victory, something to that effect.

Maybe it's a Freud thing and they don't even know it. Might serve 'em well after spittin' the bit and forcin' a Game 3.
