This has been a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of televised sports.
I've been flipping back and forth with LSU and Southern Miss baseball.
Took a moment to watch the Stakes, now its back to baseball.
Also, multitasking around the house with the wife and kid.
    Awesome Saturday.

Southern Miss is three outs away.

Game's on ESPNU here in Oxpatch, while the guys wielding windblowers doing their thing in the empty stadium.

    Lotta empty seats in Gainesville.

10,000 plus here today ... don't think it'll be that high manana ...

Why not? It is a one-game series now. Lots on the line. First two games have been tight.

Saturday crowds beat Sunday crowds in the Deep South.
They might also not want to risk seeing another Ole Miss team just miss Omaha again.

It'll be full at some point at Swayze Field tomorrow.
    I'm certain of it.

As for Fullerton's bombing of Louisville, the Titans did the same thing to Southern Miss in '09 and '08 for a six-game stretch.
It's a Titan program that's been stellar the past two decades.

The question was whether it will be AS full. We'll see

Did Dave Van Horn save his job last week by getting to the super regionals?

Indeed it may be less than 10,000, but ...
Throughout the regular and postseasons, series crowds at places like Baton Rouge, Starkville, Oxford and Hattiesburg so far outdo those from most other areas in most other states.
    It's not even funny.
The NCAA was pleased to announce a regional and super regional would be staged at sites such as Oxford and Baton Rouge.
    Extremely pleased.

And those who lambast (sp) the likes of Van Horn and Corky Palmer are just not right.

I think Arkansas dogpiled. The kiss of death. You don't touch the Clarence Campbell or Prince of Wales trophies, and you only get one dogpile per year, at Rosenblatt.

And the Corky Palmer Road Show continues. Southern Miss 9, Gators 7.

The words, "Eagles are one win away from a berth in the College World Series," rattle around in my brain, and I sit here dumbfounded. Remember, a month ago, they lost 16-6 to Memphis. MEMPHIS!!
