The Road to Omaha: NCAA Baseball Tournament Thread

The NCAA provides charter flights to Omaha, but some have more than one team. (And yes, there are stories of friction on some trips.)

Arizona State is flying commercial instead of sharing a charter with Fullerton.

 

Maybe the Days Inn by Exit 3A wasn't available.
I mean, a Sleep Inn as the team hotel? Good God, USM. Live it up a little. Stay at a hotel where you don't have to enter the rooms from the outside of the building.

 

Is it a statement to see that the CWS has been on for an afternoon and there's no comments in three days?

America needs an Arkansas vs. Texas final.

 

Hell, even softball had comments...

 

There would have been plenty of comments if the over-managed Fullerton team had won.
Sacrifice bunts while trailing 9-2 ... uh, no.

 

LSU LF just saved three runs with a diving catch on a sinking flyball down the line. It's 3-2 Tigahs going into the bottom of the ... fourth. My God, we're looking at a 4-hour game if the pace doesn't pick up.

 

What do they think this is, the SEC Tournament?

 

Fullerton-Texas would be quite a treat too. Don't count out the Titans — they won the CWS in '79 after getting beat in the opener. (They beat the Hogs in the final.)

 

That's good, batman. Approaching the 3-hour mark and they've just gone to the 7th, LSU up 6-4.

 

This is an absolute disaster for us Virginia deskers.

 

I hate to say it, but I cannot remember the last time I saw a young black American pitching.

 

As is the AP's picture selection so far. Seven pictures from this game, and six of them feature nothing but LSU players.
