Somebody wanna figure up how many BBs SoMiss has given up from the 8th-9th of Texas game through the first 4 innings vs. NC and how many of those walks have scored?

Hmmmm, that would be a good graphic for ESPN ... maybe they've done it. Don't know. Can't stand to watch it anymore and will be watching tonight. My limit is 4 hours of ESPN per day, max dosage.

I'm guessing Creighton will probably play there a lot, if not full time, so there is at least the spring. Although that won't be a money maker or anything. I think the new stadium is a nice plan, but there really needs to be a full-time tenant to make it worth it. But the city was going whatever it takes to keep the CWS even if it meant building a new stadium to be used two weeks out of the year. The Royals and the city have had a nice pissing match for a while. Truthfully the Royals don't have much to stand on. They haven't been relevant there in a long time and, again, all Omaha cares about is the CWS. I kind of thought the Royals would eventually give in and play there but they got their new digs in Sarpy County so they got what they wanted. I don't know if Omaha would support an independent league team or the Royals at this point. It will be interesting to see how well the new Sarpy stadium does a year or two after it opens.

Hasn't Robin Ventura done CWS games for ESPN for several years?

Yes he has. Barry Larkin, who played at Michigan, I think, did some too, as did Eric Karros, who played at UCLA.

This play-by-play guy is losing his voice very, very quickly.

McDonough was out sick the other day and doesn't sound much better now.

He sounds like the way Texas is playing.

Augie know what time it is (literally). Bunt. Make them throw to the guy who has to look directly into the sun. Put some pressure on.

I will continue to pile on ESPN for general incompetence. Hersheiser didn't even know who bunted the ball - he said Torres, not Tucker. And know-nothing, blow hard Steve Phillips doesn't even belong in the studio talking about the majors, much less the CWS. Research on size of right handers in MLB? Who gives a flying eff?

Maybe it's because of the metal bats but good God, these umps' strike zones are huge. I guess if they squeezed the zone, the hitters would have too big of an advantage. But it seems like they add two inches to the black and it's from the ankles to the armpits.

Phillips just said the compelling reason to watch CWS was because so many future major leaguers are playing. BULL ... SHIT. The compelling reasons are the games and the competition, the way games can flip flop - kinda like what just happened. STFU, you butt head.

Erin Andrews knows more about what's goin' on than Phillips does.

ESPN.com has Texas scoring minus-2 runs in the top of the seventh.

    Hell of a trick.
