Seems NCAA is up for governing ANYTHING it sees fit to.
Just saw this story on Yahoo site:
    ------------
NCAA taking cut of re-sold CWS tickets

OMAHA, Neb. (AP)—For years, many fans have been willing to pay more than face value for College World Series tickets. Now the NCAA is getting in on the action.
The NCAA and Ticketmaster have created a system called TicketExchange, which competes with online resale sites such as StubHub, Craigslist, eBay and others.
CWS ticket chairman Herb Hames said the system is a convenience for people who want to sell extra tickets at higher than face value. There is a link to TicketExchange through www.cwsomaha.com.
College athletics’ governing body hopes to generate revenue from its involvement with TicketExchange.

“There’s a secondary market out there, and I have no qualms about that revenue going toward college athletics,” said Dennis Poppe, NCAA vice president of football and baseball.
Sellers set a desired price, and if the tickets are sold, a check goes to the seller—minus 10 percent. That 10 percent is shared by the NCAA and Ticketmaster. There are other administrative charges.
The TicketExchange computer system cancels out the original ticket and creates a new one that contains a bar code that the buyer prints.
Hames said business is picking up on TicketExchange.

“Probably two weeks before the series,” he said, “maybe 12 people were selling like 60 tickets. It has exploded this week.”
Some 2,200 tickets from more than 120 sellers had changed hands as of mid-week, Hames said.
“The NCAA was the one who spent all the money for the equipment and the system,” Hames said. “They’re going to be lucky to get back their cost. Over the years, they may turn a little profit, but not for the first couple of years.”

Was finishing up in the office when the UVa runner got caught in the rundown between third and home in the eighth. Turned to a co-worker and said. "Game over. UVa loses this one 4-3 now."

I guess you can just call me Mussolini [/simeonrice]

Actually, an indication of the NCAA being behind the times. Other sports have been doing this for years.

Thinking about it, I guess it still doesn't affect the out-and-out scalpers that deal, where permitted, in front of the stadiums each gameday.

Well, obviously. Teams get eliminated, people go home and sell off the rest of their ticket books.
Can you buy single-game tickets to the CWS, or do you have to buy them for the whole thing? I'm talking about from the box office/ticketmaster, places like that, not from scalpers.

All i hope is that someone wins Friday to force at least one game on Saturday, otherwise the end of my vacation will be in trouble.

I was told by Southern Miss fans prior to leaving that they paid $20 for a ticket.
So I think the ducats are available for single games.
    Not sure, though.

I've got a feelin' for an LSU-Arizona State CWS final with the Tigers winning in 2 games.

I'm really liking Fullerton and Southern Miss in the CWS.
    Anyone agree?

    It's not possible.
Fullerton's already lost twice and gone home, plus Southern got cheated.
