That was a great game. Dominant pitching throughout. ASU takes the lead on a double and a two-out triple in the top of the ninth.
But that first homer in the bottom of the ninth, wow, what shot. It cleared the batter's eye in dead center field.

The ASU freshman reliever had K'd 5 of the 7 hitters he had faced before giving up Rupp's monster shot.

ASU pitcher grooved a knee-high curveball to the No. 9 hitter in Texas' batting order and he put it about three rows deep in the LF seats.

Horns have been lucky against shaky relief pitching by USM and Arizona State. It beats being not lucky, but they'll need more than luck to beat LSU. I say the Tigers sweep the finals.

I'm not convinced about Texas either but everytime you think they're dead, they do something to stay alive.

If Texas' pitching is that good, it will need to prove it against LSU's bomb squad. I can't see Texas beating LSU.

I didn't think a college hitter could remove his helmet while running the bases, as Rowe did when he hit the game-winning HR. I must be thinking of a HS or Legion rule.

Texas keeps winning, but doesn't it seem like they have been living on borrowed time since winning the 25-inning game? Could have easily lost to Army. Could have easily lost the TCU series. Could have lost to Southern Miss and ASU twice. But, they do keep on winning.

Don't know the rule or if it is a rule but a few times I've seen a hitter after hitting a HR take his helmet off before he crossed the plate and used it to "high helmet" the on-deck hitter.

Considering this is the NCAA, hard to believe they haven't put this in the rule book.

One thing I think they should rule on is pitchers having long laces on their glove (like ASU's Michael Lambson). Doesn't appear that serves a purpose other than as an attempt to distract the hitter.

Coleman came to the Tiger roster, straight out of the segregated Mississippi Delta.
Due most likely to his "academy" status, earned only second-team all-state laurels from Mississippi's big media a few years back.
This guy has been sensational on the college level.

He's been very good the last two years, and way overused. Best case scenario is that he quickly enters a MLB bullpen. Worst case he has arm surgery within a couple of years.

No posts on this game yet? This thing has been phenomenal.

LSU wins it. UT had five solo home runs but couldn't drive in the run that counted. Can't believe the Tigers left the bases loaded and nearly stranded two more. Tomorrow should be a good one.

The reason why I haven't written anything on tonight's game because this was damn good to watch. There was no way in hell I was going to be on-line until this game was over. Texas better load the bases before they crank out home runs Tuesday night if they want to even this series.
