Do you mean to suggest that this thing is actually being edited?

Does Grantland not operate on weekends?

5 days a week, looks like.

The Internet doesn't work on weekends.

Obviously Simmons thinks (knows) most of the site's readers will be doing so on their office computers.

There are a handful of people who have access to computers away from work, and long-form writing is best suited for spare time. It's not as if the writers have to work on weekends to have content on those days. The days when the potential audience is the largest. No copy on weekends seems odd.

I don't get it. Feels like a misguided tribute to the National.

Down the line they could obviously add weekend content. But it's not that bizarre to not have any at the outset. Deadspin didn't have any weekend stuff for several years. Page 2 same thing (and is still relatively light). Plus Simmons has said in numerous places they're not "chasing page views."

Seems in line with only having content five days a week.

Your arguments have been refuted, you just look like more of an ass every time you post

Celebrating the business model would be misguided. Celebrating the content is far from misguided.

FWIW I have only read Grantland from the office, not at home.

Again, I don't think I am their target demo but I am loving the site. I also like that it is a really clean format and easy to navigate.

I understand that and agree to a great extent. But don't most websites experience a traffic lull on the weekends?

Also, weekend features might be planned for the future, kind of like the full rollout of the site's blog.
