The Simmons Site

I'm not sure why you have to wade through any of that. I usually check the site once a day and it takes about a minute to decide which articles I want to read. I choose not to read that stuff as well but I have also enjoyed quite a bit of what is on there.

 

I like the site. It's different and these days you don't see different very often.

 

Hey, at least Roseanne hasn't acted as a guest editor of Grantland yet, unlike a certain literary mag.

 

Stop sucking up. They're not hiring.

 

Writing ought to have a point. Try to find one in some of this esoterica.

 

It seems clear that if you want to find a reason to dislike the site, you will. Its published a ton of great stuff, and also some crap. The people who don't want to like Grantland for whatever reason seem determined to focus only on the bad stuff.

 

I said I liked Jones' latest! What do you people want from me?!

 

Do you still feel that "it's The National of our generation?

My problem with it is that the first 6-8 pages of this thread really got my hopes up for what Grantland would be.

At this point I don't feel that it measures up to those predictions.

I understand it's early and things could change.
