We all know writers struggle with details, thus the need for editors.

It is really sad for journalists to see fact errors as something to laugh off. It's obviously an accumulation of them, and Grantland needs to fix it if it is to be a consistent destination site for serious readers

dools, it all comes down to the amount of hand-wringing each reader chooses to do about it. There are going to be keep who care deeply, people who care a little, people who don't care that much, and people who don't understand why other people care deeply.

    BTW ... Deadspin's hiring. ;)

But we're supposed to care deeply about getting things right, j/glass

OK ... if I'm editing it, I'm going to do my damnedest to get things right. I am NOT going to get upset about somebody else NOT getting it right if I feel the content overshadows the inaccuracy.

I understand you're looking at the ideal. I understand that.

I knew I could count on Dooley here.

dooley is correct. The errors need to get cleaned up. If that means hiring two (more) fact checkers/copy editors, that's what they should do. Especially if Deadspin is going to do their damndest to mock your every misstep.

All that aside, I saw a tweet the other day that wasn't pointed out here: Grantland is already profitable. Ad revenue is already at $10 million. So those holding their breath in anticipation of it failing best buy a snorkel.

Simmons must be using same fact checkers who
    worked on his NBA book

I used to tell my idiot brother that if ignorance was bliss he must be the happiest man on earth. His reply? "Huh?".

    Just thought I'd share that.

That's great news. I'll say this, I've been to the Grantland site more times since it started than I've been to the ESPN site in the past six months.
