Also, the PA at Everton is so loud I'm pretty sure they can hear it at Anfield.

For now. I imagine one of him or Ecclestone will divest himself before too long.

An entertaining afternoon's entertainment at Fortress West Leigh, where Havant & Waterlooville should have been two or three clear by halftime but in the end got only a 1-1 draw. Lucky not to lose our goalkeeper after he gave away a second-half penalty, then missed a spot kick of our own before Hampton & Richmond's keeper made his only mistake of the day to allow a headed equaliser.

Their keeper was tremendous, and happy to banter with the fans behind the goal. His performance and attitude earned him a nice round of applause at the final whistle. This is a fixture, by the way, that produced a mass brawl and four sendings-off in one of the meetings last year, so the spirit of the game was nice to see.

West Ham probably fortunate to get that PK vs. Liverpool, and lucky again as Diamanti slips while taking a PK that beats Reina nonetheless.

    Nice result for Burnley, too.

Yes, how delightful that David Nugent remembered that he knows how to score goals. I'm thrilled for him, really, I am.

Are you saying the Cub Rule applies to Pompey now, too? :)

    ---------------

One hell of a first half in West Ham-Liverpool ... nice to see two teams just open it up and go at each other.

I don't mind it so much when it's Diarra or Distin or Defoe or ... ugh.

But fucking David Nugent? It's like the Cubs waiving Kevin Gregg and him going on to save 30 straight chances for the Astros.

Barnsley and Swansea played out a 0-0 draw today in the Championship. The significance? It was the only goalless draw in the top SIX levels in England.

The Unibond League turned out Boston United 0-0 Whitby Town in the only double-blank at the seventh level.

A little bit of Man U style time added on allows Owen to score the winner in the sixth of four added minutes. 4-3 to United. Bellamy had leveled for City in the 90th minute.

Interestingly, Sky Sports says the PL team that had the least average stoppage time last year? Manchester United, at 3:26. Chelsea had the fourth-lowest figure.
