Just finished watching the ManU ManC game on tape.
I got the feeling the ref was going to let it keep going until ManU got the winner or every player on the pitch keeled over from exhaustion.
They played 6 minutes of added time, and I don't recall a single injury in the second half that warranted a get-him-off-the-pitch stoppage.

I didn't get to watch it but did the ref go over the injury time that was posted?

Yes. Four minutes were signaled. Allegedly, he added on a minute for City's celebration after the equaliser, and a few seconds for a United substitution. The goal was scored on 95:27.

Derwood, to manage a club? Boxing match? :D

    CRISIS AT FRATTON PARK
Hart for the chop? Pompey circle Hoddle, O'Leary

Ah, now I see. To manage the PL's little club that can't. :D

I'd probably go for O'Leary. Though it doesn't matter. They're a Championship team in all but league status this year. Next year, they'll be a Championship team through and through.

If Hart's job is on the line this week, then he's done. They're not beating Everton, and it wouldn't stun me if they lost tonight. Almost all their new signings are cup-tied.

Which isn't surprising. But what was strange about that was comparing it to the Chelski-Spurs game in which Sebastian Bassong was down for 10 minutes-plus before being carried off on a stretcher and Didier Drogba was helped off with a knee injury after nearly whiffing on a shot.

And they added "only" 8 minutes. Mrs. Birdscribe was speculating on how much they'd add with all that down time: 10-12?

Too bad for Paul Hart. I thought he did a good job raising young talent given financial difficulties at Forest a few years back. Got them dangerously close to the Premier League.

Pompey may be 0-6 in the Premier League, but that's 1-0 in League Two and 1-0 in League One!

And, what's more, that's now more points in League One than Southampton! (Although, to be fair, that was true before they played Carlisle, as well.)

Four minutes were signaled, stoppage time went into six.

Again, though, the number that goes up on that board is the minimum stoppage time. The referee can add more at his discretion for goals, celebrations, subs, time-wasting, etc.

Yes, I understand how the rule works.
What I saw at Old Trafford was a travesty. There was one goal, and I believe one sub. There was no warning against the Man City keeper for time wasting because he had few goal kicks. There was no reason for the game to go as long as it did. I never saw how Hughes reacted, but he should have blasted the ref.
