Connor Casey is much too slow and lumbering for a game like this. Davies and Spector were both unlucky in two excellent goal chances.

Connor Casey equalizes on a bizarre header.

    Honduras just missed a PK.

Missed it badly. Thank goodness ... Tim Howard barely moved.

Does someone want to mark a man coming through the box otherwise wide-open? Ridiculous ...

    Hello, South Africa.

Very good. No pressure going into the final game with Costa Rica. We needed this one.

I so much didn't want the Costa Rica game to matter. Just didn't want that much pressure.
It's funny how these things go. One dude on Soccer By Ives -- a poster, not Ives -- said he wanted the US to lose vs. Honduras so everybody could see what a foof Bradley was for starting Casey.
And Casey went out and bagged two.
What a beautiful night for US Soccer. Landon was brilliant again, set up Casey #2 and struck his own incredible free kick.
    On to South Africa! Wow.

I'm happy for the berth in South Africa, but amazingly annoyed at the Honduran federation for such crappy TV considerations. Did they really make more money off the closed-circuit deal than on ESPN? I doubt it.

No joke, Twoback. Costa Rica is too good.

Doubt the U.S. lets off the accelerator, of course. But good that a WC berth isn't hinging on that match.

The World Cup is eight months away.

Let off the accelerator. Bring on the career MLSers for the Costa Rica match.
