Deskslave's contention seems to be that either:
    1. It only gets cold in Russia (which would mean he'd never been to Chicago).
    2. The entire US league should be played in the Sun Belt (eliminating the Fire, NYC, the Revs, Columbus, Denver, Salt Lake).

I'll never understand the Holy Grail of the soccer regular season and why so many people are hung up on this.
At the end of the EPL, Man U wanders in to play somebody like Bolton and clinches enough points to win the title. Ho-hum.
The Pittsburgh Steelers play the Arizona Cardinals in the SUPER BOWL and more 100 million people watch.
Are you absolutely certain all the other leagues are doing it correctly, DS?

Wreck happened around 3 a.m., correct? Safe money is alcohol played a factor.

Inky, I was thinking the same thing...

    Goff
One car... 3am... car is in half... yeah, that is definitely booze.

I'll be at tomorrow's game (anyone else headed?). I'm wondering if they will make any mention or something before kick-off.

A report on WTOP radio in DC said the driver lost control of the SUV and struck a metal railing. Given the damage, if anybody in the front seat survived it's a miracle.

I read that one was dead and two survived, one of the two being Davies.

Yes, that's what I'm seeing in several places as well.

The fact a USSF person said the injuries were "possibly" career-threatening makes me think the injuries are absolutely 100-percent career-threatening. You don't float that out there unless you're pretty damn well sure the extent of the injuries.

I don't know that USSF has all that much experience in handling issues like this. I think their PR people are likely not the best available...
