Hey, he took her to Pittsburgh once.
It does not get more romantic than that.

My thoughts exactly. Those arguing that the English broadcast will be available are full of shit. It's an English broadcast aimed at Latino youth and it's more than likely going to be a pro Mexico program.

We're not represented here. At. All. In our own damn country.

I'm truly of the belief that Mexico is paranoid and they think they will lose this game. The US is riding high right now. Sure, Haiti became impressive against a bunch of players that the US will likely not even consider riding the pine in South Africa, but those aren't the players that will show up.

Mexico is afraid they will lose and their loss will become fodder for a national audience in America. They actually want anyone here to see this. Those that do, well, they want to make sure that should they come out on the losing side that they can slant it with some sort of "they cheated" bullshit.

As if I didn't already hate Mexico's team (from the DMN) ...

When the United States faces Mexico at home, what happens to the Spanish-language TV rights? Who owns them? How are they sold and broadcast?

Seriously, I don't know. I usually watch the games on ESPN. With the mute button on, so they could be speaking Klingon for all I care.

But as long as we're saying that Mexico's handling of this sucks, I wonder what the TV situation is when we're the home team. Anyone know?

I mean, I assume that ESPN/Soccer United Marketing/whoever does whatever will make them the most money.

The February match in Columbus was broadcast on Univision. I don't know if ESPN Deportes broadcast the match as well or just did reports, but I saw Deportes blazers in the house.

Mexicans wanting to watch their team on the road in February got much better treatment than Americans hoping to do likewise next month.

    That's right; I remember now.

As I said, I assume ESPN/SUM whoever has the rights for a particular game would make it very easy for a broadcaster to contribute to their coffers by purchasing the rights.

I guess I'm not that bothered because I'm still stoked that any of our qualifiers are televised.
