Now that Arena's got this team playing well in its own half, the Galaxy could be dangerous.

They are just hammering the Red Bulls into the Meadowlands turf right now.

Some entertaining douchebaggery from the LA Riot Squad, a "European fans-type" group whose usual repertoire begins and ends with "Hey! (fill in the blank)! You SUCK!"

The main mistake Beckham has made since his return is saying "I'm fully committed to MLS!" then saying "I hope to find another team to hook on with to solidify my World Cup spot next year!"

I don't begrudge him the second statement at all. When he signed with LA, he probably thought he was going to play out his career Stateside. Then he played well with Real Madrid, Capello became England coach, and he realized he had a chance for one more run. Can't blame him. But as of now, he is not fully committed to MLS; he's fully committed to getting back with his national team one more time.

Holy shit, I watched about an hour of coverage last night and never heard them say it was ManUnited's hotel.

Yeah, I was there for that debacle. Angel missed a second PK that could have made the end of that game mildly interesting. Instead, I have to look on with disdain as grown men walk around with David Beckham Galaxy jerseys. Ugh.

It was a fun night though as I spent part of it entertaining another SJer.

Oh yeah, almost forgot... I didn't quite make it in for kick-off (not unusual for RBNY games). The ESC was planning to dump a bunch of fake money on Beckham as he exited the tunnel. Did this come out at all on television? I'm curious because some people say they saw it. Others say not so much.

Updated: It did receive a mention in the Daily News...

Yup. One of the security guards injured in the blast was working at the hotel the last time it got bombed ... got injured then, too.

Talks are going on now to either play the game in KL or reschedule it for sometime in the near future. United has a three-year marketing deal in place here, so that's not out of the question.

Here is a small video shot from last night regarding Beck's reception.

Getting that soccer match canceled or postponed doesn't seem like a good way to win hearts and minds to the terrorists' cause.

    Thanks.

You are correct, Inky. Unfortunately, logical thought is not prevalent among those who believe blowing themselves (and others) up will earn them 72 virgins in t3h Great Beyond. What's more infuriating is that Indonesia was making some real strides on the international stage after a decade of strife ... and now we have the Freeport killings and this in the same week.

    What Twoback said.

I heard some Americans talking about this on the radio. Kept waiting to hear your name, figuring they were seeking any American ex-pats.
