Finally. The U.S. holds on. Honduras is next in Chicago.

And hopefully, FIFA takes action on Panama for their treatment of the referee following the final whistle. Fine if you're upset with the result, but physical aggression (and likely, verbal threats) isn't necessary. Period.

Just saw these kits in highlight on FSC. No telling how much these would be worth in France right now ...

I've got one of these bad boys hanging in my closet:

The new one, however, is an atrocity.

Not sure what Panama was so angry about. That was a good call on the PK. I thought the Panama defender deserved a red card because he came in with his cleats up and out of control.

Getafe's new kit is fit for a king.

As far as I can tell it's also the real deal.

So, will BK pay anyone who goes for the shirt over the head celebration after a goal?

Burger King is kind of a dopey sponsor to have... but I've gotta say, the king inside the shirt is inspired.

Seconded, the Toon can use as many voices as we can get (especially this coming season). But it could be worse, I coulda been born a Mackem.

No one who saw Panama's game against Mexico should be the least bit surprised at how they played. That's what they do.

I highly doubt you'll see any piling on from FIFA. The two players who got sent off (one during the post-game melee) will get automatic three-game suspensions, and the Panama FA might get a $5,000 fine from CONCAlaugh for failing to control its players.

It's unfortunate that they are who they are, otherwise I think you might have seen even more players moving to Eastlands this summer. But, at this point, they are the second-fiddle team in their own town.

GB, can you explain the last graf of that link. The deal with ManU had expired, but City had to pay about £25m to a third party for Tevez. How does that work? Shouldn't he have gone as a free transfer?

Tevez's stints at Corinthians, West Ham and ManYoo were technically loans -- a guy named Kia Joorabchian and his company MSI held the player's registration. The teams negotiated with MSI and received Tevez in return for a certain period. If a team was going to ever purchase Tevez outright, it would have required a large chunk of cash, such as the one Citeh parted with.

If that all sounds rather distasteful, it is. The Premiership has since created rules banning players owned by third parties (though it absolved West Ham of any blame in getting Sheffield United relegated).
