Oh yeah. This is one of those that have been rumbling for quite some time.

Back when Wynalda was doing ESPN games, he made a comment about NY Fans. Within a week or so, Metros/RBNY had the Thursday night game. The big ESC chant for that evening was:

    It’s small.
    It’s white.
    It smells like Wynalda’s wife.
    It’s Harkes’s dick.
    It’s Harkes’s dick.

Absolutely! Now Sampson gets to try and blame the pathetic showing on Harkes getting down and dirty with Wynalda’s wife.

The best I know is that it happened in the downhill section of Partick. I know that doesn’t mean much to most but it isn’t exactly a dross section.

One of the rumblings has been that the “escape car” had a set of false plates. I don’t know what their evidence on this is, but it is something I read.

Many Bears are immediately jumping to the conclusion that it is Celtic supporters taking out frustration on a lesser profile player, given that Celtic lost, are 10 points behind, and the higher profile players are harder to hit. There is also mention about how Beasley has been making a few Celtic jokes recently as well, most recently was “What do you call a good looking woman on a Celtic fans arm? A tattoo.” (I got a chuckle… Sorry, Inky.)

This is from December of 2008:
Here’s a picture Beasley’s car up in flames:

I just hope those that did this are found, arrested and put in jail. There is nothing positive about it.

ESPN's broadcast schedule is up. All games will be shown LIVE and in HD...

    Link.

Given that it's ESPN, I would have expected more Burnley games.

    That's nice.

I think this came out last week, but the thing that jumped out at me most was how the bulk of the games now are on ESPN, not ESPN2 as with four years ago.

I think there are only 10 games on the Deuce, which means 54 will be on ESPN or ABC, which is pretty staggering when you think about it.

I had a feeling that the USA/England fixture would end up on ABC and was right.

ABC will be used for some weekend games that feature big names. ESPN2 will feature for when a scheduling conflict exists, I think this is two instances, and for when two games are on at the same time. In the latter instance, it is ESPN and ESPN2 being utilized at the same time.

As you said, this is a big difference from just 4 years ago.

All this slow leak of information regarding the build up of games has me getting pretty antsy. It feels like quite a tease.

Yeah, that will pretty much be my policy for the entire tournament of games that don't involve the USA.

Isn't this the first World Cup ESPN has shelled out for, as opposed to Soccer United Marketing buying the time?

I could be wrong, but I thought ESPN had the last two World Cups. I certainly remember being married just over a year and waking up at 4 am to watch USA games in a studio apartment while trying not to wake my wife up.

I remember all of the games in Germany being on ESPN2 except for some of the overlap games and whichever was the bigger draw would be on.

I think you misunderstood my question.

    Found my answer:

No. I understood your question. I was just wrong. I thought SUM may have originally had the rights for Korea, but I didn't think they had them for Germany.
