Most of the section had them through comps. It's where people with connections to the teams generally sit. You bet I asked around.

With the Beckham hype long since over (and maybe even turning in some ways), the market will not bear those prices.

And then they'll be forced to adjust them, a la the Yankees.

If only I were a little closer to Charleston. U.S. playing its second friendly in four days against Canada there. Almost got my SE during my stay there and a colleague, maybe two, to a Battery match down there. The pitch down there is superb ... and that takes a LOT of work down there given the sandy composition of soil in the Lowcountry.

I still love Gattuso. Damn that guy is a real hardass. I look forward to Gooch learning a thing or two from him.

Gooch with a little more edge - not too much, no use for bullies - would be really, really effective.

Most of the MLS games I go to are quite affordable. The price is not the issue, however I have to go to Olympian feats to get tickets for the supporter's section at Crew Stadium. The ticket office and Ticketmaster will not sell you tickets to that section. Doesn't matter if you call. Doesn't matter if you show up at the ticket office in person. The transaction will not go down.

I guess it has something to do with security and controlling the amount of people in the section. Your only real option if you really want to enjoy the experience is to e-mail one of the fan club representatives and go through those channels to obtain tickets. Basically cash transactions out of a back of a truck.

    It's completely absurd.

NOLU, that is odd. RBNY/Metrostars has a ticket window open at one of the gates exclusively for the ESC. If you show an ESC card, you can buy a ticket. No ESC card means no ticket.

Speaking of games... we have US v. Honduras (take 2) tomorrow night. I'm jazzed. I may not be at this one, but if the US wins, I'll definitely be in Sam's Army for the Final at Giants Stadium. Anyone else making that trek?

Last year I had no troubles ever getting into the section. Just walked up and bought your ticket. Nobody cared where you sat in the section. Now you can't walk a step without security checking to see if you belong there.

Of course rumbles with West Ham and Toronto FC have done us no favors.

I wish. I had to instead choose to go last week for Real (Salt Lake) because I've got work obligations this weekend. At least Steve Lenhart and Jason Garey treated me to the best goal I've seen at Crew Stadium.

Landon Donovan could be headed to Serie A with Livorno, at least for a short spell.

That seems like a very good move to me. A chance to play on a very high level with a club that will actually put him on the field.

I agree. Livorno just got re-promoted back into the top flight, and as such don't currently have the type of player that's going to be an automatic ahead of Donovan in the starting line-up.
