Vela was also nowhere to be seen.

Can't ask for a better start than that. Still wouldn't mind seeing another defender by the end of the month, if only to keep Silvestre off the field.

I'll just die if Biggleswade United doesn't win!

Wrong. Clearly, Arsenal is that good. No chance of a dip in form. [/bluefont]

Takes the edge off Villa's dreadful performance today and Forest (favorite non-EPL club) losing a heartbreaker on a missed penalty late in the second half.

Oh, and I think I got dibs on the foot of the table, thanks to two Everton defenders and a captain (John Carew) who didn't even play. My big-ticket signing, Robin van Persie, appears to be the only Gunner who has not scored today.

You can live on! Biggleswade 2-0 Stotfold.

If you were a Shaftesbury fan, however, it wouldn't be your day. Beaten 8-0 by Alresford UnitedTown. Oops.

Due to my obsessive viewing of the Sky Sports broadcast on FSC, I noted that Wenger seemed even more unflappably confident than usual this week.

6-1 with several regulars on the bench = Niiiice.

Arsene has seemed confident, Michael. No doubt about that. He let Adebayor, Toure and others go and never seemed down about it.

Pleasantly surprised to see Chelsea-Hull this morning. Online guide didn't have it, espn.com tv's listings didn't have it, but my newspaper did?!

    Very nice Sat. morning.

I've already gotten three texts from my soccer buddy/co-worker and an Australian writer comment to me about this... and because I'm on the road, I didn't get to see it.

Much as I hate to see Tim Howard get lit up, I love it when Arsenal is clicking like this.

Did my boy Arshavin have one of the goals?
