It IS possible to stay up with a small stadium ... for a while, anyway. Turf Moor (22,546) holds 2,400 more than Fratton Park (20,224) does.

And certainly that talk is early. But if all Burnley's relegation rivals (Wolves, Pompey, Hull, Birmingham) lose to Man U at home, and most of them will, then that's 3 points Burnley have that the others don't. And that last spot usually comes down to a point or two. Hell, it sometimes comes to goal difference, and +1 against Man U is advantage Burnley in itself.

By the way, there have now been 26 Premier League games this season, and there still hasn't been a draw, the best efforts of Pompey and Birmingham notwithstanding. There have been 17 draws in 36 games in the Championship.

Exactly. The bottom of the Prem is so filled with shit that they could survive, but let's not forget they got beat by potential relegation fodder Stoke in the first week.

Isn't Portsmouth, with all their money drama, a nigh on lock for relegation? Or at least the clubhouse favorite?

Also, I heard somewhere, not sure where exactly, that you could fit all of the city of Burnley into Old Trafford and still be 2,000 shy of a sellout.

Dempsey scores for Fulham today with what's being called a "spectacular" shot.

Abso-fucking-lutely they are. There doesn't seem to be any reason to believe they can score a Premier League goal. If the takeover doesn't go through by the close of the transfer window, they may be too far gone by January.

And according to Wiki, Burnley's population is 73,500, so that stat is right on. You could also fit the entire population of Andorra in Wembley with a few seats left over.

Nah. But I know I prefer my announcers to have English accents.

Hey! That's the type of logic that keeps Tommy Smyth employed.

(Yes, I know he's not English. The whole "Accent = soccer knowledge!" idea)

Houston sign Mexican forward Luis Angel Landin on a 1.5 year loan with an option to buy from Cruz Azul. Does this make them out and out favorites to win the MLS Cup?

Not in my house, it doesn't.
Columbus added an extra striker, too, and has been playing its tail off lately.
Goodness, even Jason Garey was scoring goals while Scheletto was hurt.
