Does Torres always bitch and moan as much as he did in the first half? [/newtoepl]

Unlike Saturday, today's halftime show is the one being shown on ESPN England (or EuroSPN or whatever it's called).

Strikers in general are high-maintenance types.

Good win by AVFC today. And a good game by Friedel, who made several quality saves.

Also, ESPN must think there's an overlap between EPL fans and NASCAR. The match ended, they jumped to a commercial and then came back to "bonus" "NASCAR Now" coverage.

Anyone think I was kidding about Donovan being able to help Liverpool?
He'd be better than Benayoun, better than Lucas (and better than the Kuyt who played and stunk it up today, for sure).
Anybody have any idea what kind of price tag he'd carry?
If PSG can afford him, it's gotta be less than Liverpool played for the Italian with the broken whatever.

Feel the Europa League excitement! Aston Villa are offering a free group-stage ticket to anyone who shows up for the second-leg qualifier on Thursday. Provided, of course, that they qualify.

That Villa win was a lot of fun. A lot of fun.

Also read today that World Soccer Daily, one of, if not the pre-eminent US-based take on European football, was basically intimidated off the air by Liverpool supporters who were threatening host Steven Cohen's family after he made some unfriendly comments regarding the origins of the Hillsborough disaster.

I wondered if we'd get around to that.
The fact it took this long maybe undermines Cohen's case that it was a sad day for "football in America" as WSD closed shop.
