Yes, but at least they looked like the fruit from their area.

I had that game on in the background at the office. Saw bits and pieces of the game. What happened?

EDIT: Never mind, I just read the gamer.

Meanwhile Scott Reis is going to have nightmares about D.C. United's first goal today.

You don't expect to see a 'keeper be that complacent.

I do. I have no idea how I got Scott in there. Still a nightmare goal.

    Well-organized.
    But uninformed.
This, for instance: "And then give them a kick in the butt for ignoring the audience that loves the product."
Anschultz, the guy who brought Beckham to LA, still owns the Chicago Fire. Thus, he is the man who brought Blanco to Chicago. Do you suppose the fans who welcomed him to Toyota Park felt "ignored"?

Put me in the well-meaining but uninformed camp as well.

Although he's injured right now, before he arrived in the U.S., Beckham was playing some of the best soccer of his career. He got injured playing for his national team, and was a major catalyst in one of the biggest clubs in the world winning their national title. How he equates 32-year old soccer players with 40-year old baseball players puzzles me as well. He must never have heard of Teddy Sheringham.

It also annoys me that he altered Best's quote. Beckham has never claimed to be the best player in the world, but what he lacks in speed, he makes up for with his touch and his brain. In fact, it's his brain that's going to allow him to be an effective player all the way through his MLS career. I think he is here to win trophies with L.A., and that it is ticking him off that he can't be out on the field right now.

On the plus-side, he does recognize that there is a market for soccer in the U.S. But it's a bit of a slap in the face to Blance, Schelotto, Angel, Reyna et al. who have also arrived in MLS recently, to say the only way the league breaks through is if Beckham can do it.

A quick point... the sale of the Chicago Fire was just approved. There are new owners coming in.

I will read the articles in a moment. I just had long and wonderful weekend which included Rangers opening up with an awesome win. Beasley was eating enough grass that the grounds crew won't need to mow for a month.

My evening also ended when I was flagged at a bar and told that they won't serve me.

Was that because you'd already had too many -- or looked too young?
