Very nice for DMB. And that is a good looking shirt.

That Sounders score makes me long for relegation/promotion in U.S. soccer. I'd love to see what the Rhinos and Sounders could do in the MLS.

Nice goal. Seems like he's found his feet quickly at Ibrox.

I'm parking this here if anybody wants to use it on the next "Beckham is a failure/soccer sucks" thread.

And Pastor, you better preorder FIFA 08 now...

Electronic Arts Inc. revealed that teenage soccer phenom Josmer (Jozy) Altidore, who plays for New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer, and young Mexican national team goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa of Club America of the Mexican Primera Division, will join Brazilian International Ronaldinho on the front cover of EA SPORTS™ FIFA Soccer 08 in North America. Altidore, 17, is the second youngest athlete ever featured on an EA SPORTS videogame cover. -- EA Sports

I'm really on the fence right now about FIFA '08. Not if I'm going to get it--I most definitely will--but if I'm going to stick with the PS2 for another year or jump to the XBox 360. Decisions, decisions.

Do you know how long he's got left on his contract?

Depends on if the first person stuff will be on current gen, or like much of EA's games, if it will be next gen only.

I believe it is one more year after this.

    Real sad.

As to EA... I just hope it doesn't cause a jinx.

My PS2 burned out in March. I'm still trying to decide between going to a PS3 or picking up a cheap PS2.

Scott French wrote a pretty good story on Beckham in this month's Soccer Magazine (that might not be the right title). Anyway, sources quoted all throughout, and the sidebars, graphic breakouts, timelines, other bells and whistles, etc., really made it a quality overall package. It's the exact type of thing I like doing here where there's a big event.

Great job, Scott (from a former colleague who appreciates how you made my Cerritos-Millikan soccer story sing a little better way back when).
