Good to see Spurs off the their traditional fast start.

A loss at Sunderland, and now down 3-1 to Everton at halftime.

Beckham is expected to play at least a half tonight in SuperLiga vs. D.C.

London hoodoo? What London hoodoo? The Toffees pwn the capital. :D

Speaking of pathetic, I'm not sure whether I'm more underwhelmed by Rangers' 1-0 home win against The Artists Formerly Known as Red Star Belgrade or Lazio's 1-1 home draw with Dinamo Bucharest.

Freddy Adu played 53 minutes of Benfica's 2-1 home win over FC Copenhagen. The Danish goal came from a Canuck Abroad, Atiba Hutchinson. Good start, but the second leg could still be dicey.

I think Red Star had seven players booked in that game. Seems as though both teams played a 4-5-1, with Rangers not wanting to give up an away goal and Red Star happy to play a preventitve game to get a draw.

I think Benfica gets through, although Copenhagen is a decent team. Not so sure about Lazio.

More fun and game tomorrow with Arsenal, Liverpool and Celtic all trying to grab away goals.

By the way, the BBC online headline says "Everton See Off Sorry Spurs", and Soccernet's insider said pretty much the same in its column on the game. Not what Beaker and White Hart Lane were looking for.

Tonight's Houston v. Pachuca match is on Telefutura, for those that have the channel.

I listened to the Rangers v. Red Star game. How does a team receive 7, yes 7, yellow cards and not have one player tossed? Based on the comments of others watching the game it seemed like Red Star got away with quite a bit before the first card even came out.

    Talk about a friggin' mess.

If you have broadband, you can also watch the game for free online at the MLS website. I believe it has English commentary.

He ate grass. It seemed that this wasn't his best game. But I think it had to do more with Red Star's decision to just foul foul foul.

Nice. Thanks for the heads up. I will probably be asleep by then. But if not, I'll check it out.
