Reading a great book on the formation and history of the Premier League named "The Club." Highly recommended.

I know college soccer isn't necessarily on everyone's radar here, but this is an intriguing idea. The only downside that immediately jumps to mind is players going pro (drafted or otherwise) might not be able to be with their team the whole season or else only join their pro side in late April/early May, but that's a small sliver of the players whose quality of life would improve through this change.

College golf plays counting fall and spring seasons with no difficulty whatsoever. It sure would be nice to eliminate November games up where I live, when the weather turns crappy. If you're going to split the seasons, not sure why you have to reduce the # of games to 23, unless that's maximum games. Microville Tech plays 17 (10 conference, 7 ooc) and the Pac-12 does not have a conference tournament.

I think holding the College Cup in May instead of early December would help attendance. And it would open up the northern half of the country as possible host sites, since the weather will be so much better.

Preferably a national team west of, say, Poland. The Bernabeu or Stadio Olimpico being empty save for the teams would send a far more powerful message than another nobody getting Cleveland State-d. Of course, that's exactly why UEFA won't do it, lest the specter of a breakaway European Super League loom on the horizon again.
