The fly in the ointment with Klinsmann is that he's not a very good coach. Jogi Low was the brains of the operation when Germany went to the semifinals in 2006. Without him, he managed to screw up Bayern, which in the Bundesliga is like making Niagara Falls run uphill.

Klinsmann was all vibes no substance. He made some very good points about players needing to push and test themselves, but he should never have been put in charge. Gulati fell in love with him though.

So ... "exemption" is now code for "FIFA couldn't care less about the women." Got it.

The women were consistently running photos of the damage the turf was doing to their legs during the 2015 World Cup. Do you think, for one moment, that Sepp Blatter cared? The women unified in a lawsuit prior to the event to bring attention to the issue, but FIFA didn't acknowledge.

Does anyone think for a moment that one men's match in the 2026 World Cup will be played on a rug?

What a morning of matches today. Brighton rampant; United rallying; Everton’s Board told not to attend the match because a credible threat to their safety.

Even though I loved the result, I can’t understand why the first United goal was allowed to stand.

When Man City gets it going, they are pretty fun to watch.

Man U are in quite good form notwithstanding yesterday's 1-1 draw at Palace. Five Premier League wins on the spin up to that point. Haven't lost in the league since Nov. 6 at Villa (with the World Cup break in between). They're in the Carabao Cup semis vs. Nottingham Forest (a 2-legged affair) and will host Reading in the FA Cup. There is hope for the Red Devils till there isn't.

Reyna with another game-winner today. Two in four days.

So, bringing him as a goal scoring sub is a sound strategy?

Earnie Stewart quitting with no notice is very strange.
