    Jamaica tied Brazil today and will advance while Brazil will not. I suspect part, not all by any means, but a part that doesn't seem to get mentioned, of the US team's difficulties is that the countries that used to be minnows in women's soccer are improving.

    As much of a mess as the Portugal game was, we still had a ton of chances and they didn’t even come close to sniffing goal until the screw up in injury time.

    Brazil, Germany and Canada all out in the group stage. All three in the top 10 of the FIFA rankings.

    Morocco lost their first game 0-6 and still advanced to the knockout stage. Holy crap!
    Germany v. S Korea was highly entertaining. Germany appeared to score the go-ahead goal from a header that was set up by a scorpion kick, from a cross. It was called back on video review.
