Damn. And I thought we were beating them to the ball for 10 minutes.

 

Once again here comes a gaggle of people in orange to ruin life.

 

Not good.

That was a Total Football goal. Unfortunately.

 

I was in a bar in Almaar once watching Holland play. They scored late to win it, and everyone spilled out into the street singing. The only word I could pick up was "oranje" and not wanting to be left out, I stripped off my shirt, started waving it over my head and belted out Rocky Top at the top of my lungs.

 

Up dark and early in the PNW.

We’ve had some chances.

Even to this soccer neophyte, the Dutch look like a smooth-running machine.

 

That sure looked like a scoring sequence that would have been successful against anyone in the universe.

 

Dutch fans were awesome to party with at the field hockey final in the 96 Olympics. Just was hoping for a little less “Hup Holland!” today.

 

Pele may not last to the final.
