That was a weak goal. One English defender on the counter. And the defender had the ball and completely whiffed on it or thought he had backup that was not there.

Limeys denied again. My grandpa hated Limeys but I don’t mind them (other than this one academic guy who comes to my store regularly and talks my ears off).

    Great game.

Only four minutes of added time after three goals, 6-7 subs and several injuries? Spain wasted three celebrating the second goal. And then wasted two in added time, and the ref blows the whistle at 3:59. Added time is the biggest inconsistency in soccer. Just stop the freaking clock after goals.

No. 6 on England had a rough one on the 2 goals. But he almost tied it before the goal line clearance.

Spain the better team by a considerable margin. A just result. Beat Germany, France and England in succession. Not bad.

Southgate built this squad not on starpower but on ability. He kept Harry Kane at 10 but damn near all else were newcomers. And in all honesty, it damn near worked out.

Copa America final is a cluster as fans without tickets stormed the gates and got into the stadium.

Foden was player of the year in the Premier League. Bellingham was player of the year in La Liga. England had plenty of star power. Kane looked about 55 out there tonight, but he did score goals in the tourney. Foden was not very visible tonight or throughout. When your best players don't star, you lose.

On second thought, is there anything more fitting than an event starting two hours late in Miami.

Shakira should just do a two-hour halftime show now.

Fans are climbing over fences and through gaps in the wall to get in without tickets. And the fans aren’t separated. They’re all mixed. This could get ugly.

Having things break down South American style is a great tutorial on the coming attractions in this nation.
