It was a packed house at Busch Stadium. And a lot of the first teamers played at least part of the match.

The only thing that's more worthless than a preseason friendly in the US featuring European clubs is a postseason friendly in the US featuring European clubs.

Friends of mine went. They said it was a blast. If they ever played a club friendly near Podunkville, I'd go - even if I couldn't name a single sixth-teamer or academy player on the field. Bad soccer is better than no soccer, right?

Is this somehow a Financial Fair Play thing? Why would the two richest clubs in the league, funded by the two craziest billionaires, have to play in these money grabs?

The same reason they play in Asia. Gotta expand the brand.

And by "expand the brand," he means "hoover up those appearance fees." What's a few muscle pulls and hamstring twangs when just showing up guarantees the club at least $2 million?

The rich get richer as Neymar chooses Barcelona.

However, this does nothing to fix their back four.

35 minutes in and this is being played at a really high level. Super open and fantastic work by the keepers.

    Good match, now 1-1.

But Gus Johnson is driving me batty.

What on Earth was the Bayern defender trying to do there? He straight up crotched the Dortmund player.

can't believe that Robben wasn't more aggressive there trying to bundle the ball in the net. Hell of a play by Subotic, but Robben gave up on the play.
