Fucking Nike. It wants to sell Umbro, but before doing so it's going to put the Swoosh on England's kit, which means the Umbro brand will be worthless.

Of course, I'm still pissed I can't find any Rio shorts in adult sizes. They've got them for kids, but not me.

Spurs have agreed a fee with Fulham to sign Dembele. Wish it was Dempsey myself.

Dembele has the potential to be a special player, while it looks like Deuce's hunger strike will lead him to the top (1)4 club that is Sunderland.

On reflection, I'm definitely aware of that. Reaction was really just because I would have loved to have seen Deuce at Spurs.

I think that Spurs are the right level for him. He's a starter on a top 4 flirting, Europa League team.

    Berbatov to Fulham.

"ACF Fiorentina announces that it missed the acquisition of the player Dimitar Berbatov after we had reached an agreement with Manchester United and a verbal understanding with the player on a contract.

"During today the English club had granted him written permission to travel to Florence for a medical and to sign a contract. The player - accompanied by his agent - embarked on a flight to Florence with tickets paid for by the club.

"But the player never arrived in Florence because of reckless and arrogant actions of other clubs which have nothing to do with the values of honesty, fair play and sporting ethics which lie beyond the boundaries of loyalty.

"As for the player, notwithstanding his characteristics and technical merit, at this point we are happy that he did not come to Fiorentina as he is not worthy of our city, our shirt and the values it represents."

Says the team involved in Serie A match-fixing in the mid 2000s.

Loved Fiorentina when Gabriel Batistuta played there in the 90s, but like the rest of Italian soccer, they can get bent on the moralizing.

I'm a relative newbie to the Champions League. Can someone explain why the English champion (Manchester City) is not in the same pot as the likes of Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and the like? City was drawn into the same group with Real Madrid, which means the champions of England and Spain are in the group.

Why is Arsenal in the same pot with Barcelona, and not Manchester City?
