Last year was a waste for Owen but he showed with Man U he can still score; 17 goals in 51 games is nothing to sneeze at, especially since he was playing far less than 90 minutes in his appearances.

Granted, he was playing with Man U teammates, and not Stoke teammates. But I think he can be productive if he stays healthy. He does have a knack for the net.

I hope he is. He's been my favorite player since his days as a teen star with England.

About a week late to this...but I have been otherwise busy to check and forgot.

The old-man crew of 10th-division Wembley (featuring Ray Parlour, Martin Keown, Graeme Le Saux, Claudio Caniggia and Brian McBride) got rocked by 8th-division Uxbridge in FA Cup Qualifying after 2-2 draw the first time: http://www.harrowobserver.co.uk/west-london-sport/allsport/2012/08/30/uxbridge-cruise-to-fa-cup-romp-at-wembley-113046-31727792/

So much for the idea of a Cinderella FA Cup run. That's one of the things I like about the FA Cup is how it includes all the teams from the Premiership all the way down to the lowest hole-in-the-wall club teams.

Another example of ESPN's questionable ethics ...

Grant Wahl tweeted ESPNFC lifted quotes from his story on Clint Dempsey and used them in its own article on Deuce. Without attribution, I'm sure.

Speaking of ... big match tonight in Jamaica. USMNT 2-0 is my hope.

I hope the U.S. can come out of Kingston with 3 points. They're so inconsistent, though. Matches you think they should win, they mess up and matches they shouldn't do well in, they execeed expections (sometimes). Is it just me who thinks this?

No, there was full attribution. Wahl was mostly pissed that there was no attribution in a Twitter post, which is kind of silly.

I can't see it on TV, but apparently Dempsey just fired in an open net in the first minute off a rebound, 1-0!

    Didn't last long, tied 1-1.

How did the USMNT give up a goal? Should Howard get to ice pick a defender as usual or was it his fault?

From what I read on the Twitterverse, it was a low free-kick that beat Howard. How culpable he was, I have no idea.

Beware of popup ads though...I'm sure I will get HR calling me in with these half-naked women on the ads...but, meh.
