The MLS Players Union has released the annual salary list. Our local rookie makes less than I do... which is both reassuring and disturbing at once.

Yeah, the lower-level MLS and other guys have to hold down offseason jobs to make ends meet. Sad, if you ask me.

 

So did NFL players in the early years of that league.

 

Difference is that I don't see the salaries in MLS going up that much anytime soon. How are the franchises doing money-wise? Do they break even, make a profit, take a loss? Just wondering.

 

If it's time for a roster announcement, it must be time for more Klinsidrama. Could Altidore really get left out of the team for two must-win World Cup qualifiers?

Interesting that Altidore got left out. Anybody have a good idea why?

If the US fucks this up and misses the Hex, Klinsmann needs to go, Gulati be damned. Make him a technical director or special adviser to the USSF or something, but the US not being among the last six teams in Concacaf qualifying is inexcusable.

 

Klinsy is fired immediately if they fail to make the hex. Gulati will probably get the ax too.

Way too much money on the line to have a failure of that magnitude.

 

If the U.S. doesn't make the final six, both of them likely have to go. Not choosing Altidore and then saying a lot of your basis for roster spots is recent club form is contradictory. They'd better advance or things could get really ugly, really fast.
