Dempsey also scored what turned out to be the winning goal for Spurs at Southampton.

The first sending off was a no brainer. The second was bad, even if you think it is a dive, you don't make that call. I think the missed offsides call was close, and it think it was just caused by the weird position of a player coming out of the goal to get a pass.

I'm looking forward to this. Not expecting the U.S. to win it all or anything, but I'd like to see where the U.S. stacks up against CONMEBOL (outside of Brazil and Argentina, that is).

You can sort of see the expression on Clattenburg's face when he books Torres for diving. It's like he realized, ah shit, I've already booked him, now I have to send him off for diving. Oops, didn't mean to do that.

FA announced Clattenburg won't work any matches this weekend because he'd be a distraction. Yeah, so, a suspension, huh?

I think that's going too far the other way.

I thought Torres dove, but it wasn't card-worthy. I also don't think it's some miscarriage of justice.

    That's not why he's being removed ...

The charge of cursing at players?

Ah. Hadn't seen that when I did the original post. As you were.

Not so much cursing as racial slurs.

Arsenal got themselves 4-0 down to Reading after 37 minutes, came back with a 94th minute goal to level at 4-4, got a goal from fucking Chamakh, of all people, to take the lead in extra time but have now been pegged back to 5-5.

    6-5 to Arsenal.

I'll say that again: 6-5 to Arsenal.
