There was one save, late in the second half that - as a former GK - baffled me. It's here.

Now why on Pele's green pitch he decided to kick that away rather than grabbing it is beyond me.

Robbie Rogers comes out of the closet.

    I wish him well.

I went to the Leeds United message board when I saw this. The reaction wasn't as bad as feared (Rogers was a ridiculed bust by many Leeds fans), though there were definitely some pricks in the mix.

He'd previously left the team, right?

Watched him many times in Columbus. Kid had a ton of potential as a player, but just never got it together. I'm glad he has found peace, but I hope he doesn't ditch soccer altogether. He's only 25.

Leeds loaned him out and then dropped him. I don't think he played a game for them this season.

    US Soccer supports Rogers.

I hope the kid comes back to the game.

Blackburn eliminates Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates, moves into quarterfinals. Gotta love the FA Cup.

If they lose the tie against Bayern, that might be it for Wenger.

Everton managed to get half a leg up on its neighbor and not lose (yet) to Oldham. Howard wasn't exactly impressive coming for the corner that led to the stoppage-time equalizer, and now a wafer-thin squad that's already tired has to deal with a replay on the 27th.

Everton is still in the draw, though, which is more than can be said for most of the Premier League.

As of today, Messi has the 6th most goals ever in a La Liga season and is 1 away from the record which stood a couple of years ago. And there are 14 games left in the season. Insanity.

It took 33 games, but Portsmouth are finally bottom of League One, and they didn't even need the 10-point deduction to do it. The sad thing is that today was the third time I've seen them this season, and a 1-1 draw against Carlisle was BY FAR the best I've seen.

League Two next season ... if we're lucky.
