Brooks was awful and should have been pulled at halftime. And there was no excuse for what Gonzalez did on that first goal.

 

Klinsi is a German square peg trying to fit an American round hole. Yes, our two countries have different developmental systems. No, you cannot impose one system upon the other and expect it to bear fruit. Throw in some of the tactical howlers and the bad play in general, and it's clear that it's time.

 

I like some of the changes to youth development, including smaller games and fields. The key (as it always has been) is having the right processes in place to spot and nurture youth talent.

Seems like everyone thought it was going this way. Hey, if they can get someone better, nobody can complain.

Guy at halftime of the Premier League game on MSNBC put it pretty well: Klinsmann had some nice highs with US Soccer. But his lowest lows were unmatched by recent managers (Arena, Bradley, etc.).

Speaking of, rumors are flying that Arena may return for the interim.

 

JK might have survived if he hadn't lashed out at his critics.

 

I have no clue who's a reasonable person for them to hire. What are the likely names?

Would Arena consider a comeback? I've seen that name tossed around.

 

Arena for interim is the odds-on pick right now.

 

I'll be stunned if the replacement isn't Arena.
