You know, I could see that. Klinsmann's still looking at a delicate flower with 57 international goals.

Klinsman is tone deaf to the need for The USA to still have to sell soccer.
Donavan is about the only household name of US origin ,

Cutting him is huge mistake. He was about the only player that casual followers of
    US soccer could name.

Exactly what my wife said after she saw the SportsCenter story.

I rattled off a half-dozen other names and drew a blank stare.

I guess Kyle Rote Jr. was on vaca that day.

When historians look back, no doubt they will find that Kyle Rote jr ushered in the arrival
    of soccer to the USA.

If he's such a household name you'd think Boom could spell it right.

You're not a household name until Boom mispells your name.

When I saw this thought no way, but Frank Giase called it. Good writer, good guy.

All I can say to that, cj, is that Altidore had better produce more in that 4-5-1 than he did with Sunderland this year.

They could have used that that third sub instead of starting Costa. Great header by Ramos and Atleti might as well not shown up for the extra time.

Marcelo was the difference maker for me. Di Maria was excellent as well, although he could have been a touch more assertive in regular time.

CR7 seems miserable to play with. As best as I could see, he didn't celebrate the first 3 goals with the rest of the team and the 4th goal was all about taking his shirt off and flexing. Then at the end of the game, the shirt comes off again and he doesn't go over to celebrate with his teammates.

    *sigh* another win for fascism.
I'm sure somewhere in the depths of hell, Franco is celebrating
