If you had told me after 5 games last year that Di Maria would be sold at a loss after one largely ineffective season, I'd think you were crazy.

Night before the season starts. Like Christmas Eve, but with more Football Manager being simmed.

No new Ted Lasso piece to start the season is a major blow.

Two dropped points by Chelski on a tight call against Courtois. Clearly a foul but I'm not sure the foul was in the box and the DOGSO call was debatable.

I don't know if the 2-2 result was good for Watford or bad for Everton.

Man U was fortunate to get an own goal to get three points. But Romero's performance will make it easier to part with De Gea.

Well, that Arsenal title run is starting in fine form.

Wenger spotted rummaging through his pockets, looking for a receipt for Cech.

It's one game. I think in my 17 or so years watching the EPL, Cech is one of the two best keepers that I've seen (along with Van der Sar). Courtois looks to be fantastic and obviously did well for Atletico Madrid and Chelsea last year, but I'd like to see it over a longer period of time.

I'm not sure that I want regular Friday EPL action, but it made a lazy Summer day working from home better. United are turgid on offense, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Romero. They won't survive long with Blind at CB

Man U could win the treble and they'll still run Van Gaal out on his arse if they don't look good doing it.

Seems odd Tim Howard is doing commentary on this Chelsea-City match. I'm just not used to active players doing games in their own league.
