The thing with Villa is that for the last 10-15 years, they've had this excellent youth academy. They then rush those players to the Premiership (Albrighton, Nathan Delfouneso, the Moore brothers) when they're not ready and mix them with replacement-level talent (Zat Knight is a name that comes to mind) so they're just good enough to finish mid-table, land in the Europa League qualifying and lose before getting any money (Villa managed to crash out in the final qualifying round to the same damn club, Rapid Vienna, two years in a row).

Dreadful management decisions (Gerard Houillier and particularly ALEX MCLEISH) pushed them dangerously close to the relegation zone, but now that Lambert's been in and established, things are improving. And then, they'll cry poverty and sell Benteke and Agbonlahor and Guzan six months after they should have for 75 cents on the dollar (pence on the pound?) and we'll be right back at it again.

 

I saw the top half of Liverpool's white shirts and I said to myself, "those are classy."

That kind of looks like that weird image you get on TV when your satellite signal breaks up.

Did Wynalda really think PSV was the better team or was it more 'I'm Dutch-American and one of us needs to have a different prediction.'

 

Now it's getting embarrassing. Three nil and coud've been 4 on the shot off the cross bar. Didn't watch the entire game but saw only 1 good shot for PSV.
