Arjen Robben retires. To mark the occasion, I’m going to dribble on the right wing, drop my shoulder and curl a left footer into the far corner.

Haven’t heard a lot of Brit media complain about the tea celebration. Guess they reckon, eh, fair enough.

There was some bitching about it on the Guardian’s podcast. Jonathan Wilson, who is really smart about soccer, said he couldn’t understand how the game was only 2-1 because the US crushed the English all game

Pogba says that he wants to leave United. Good riddance — he’s unplayable when he’s interested, but he is always unhappy.

Must be tough for United fans realizing they're where Liverpool were eight or nine years ago.

The amount of Americans rooting openly for the U.S. women to lose is sort of confounding to me. But then again, everything in this country is left-right politics so I shouldn't be surprised.

I am fairly liberal, but I root for pretty every Team USA.

I could be wrong, but my guess is that the vast majority of people saying they're rooting against the US women pay no attention to soccer at all except to sneer at it and are only responding to talk show cues.
