God damn, I love playoff hockey. Nothing better than this. And I shaved for the last time yesterday -- my beard starts when the playoffs do.

If I were back east, I'd have been home from work two hours ago -- and relishing the fact that I'm still watching live hockey. As it is, I'm still at work -- but relishing the fact that I'm still watching live hockey. :D

For the intermission period, let's talk popcorn or what you are eating while watching this game.

I popping a bowl of popcorn. I love white cheddar popcorn. Anyone have a favorite type of flavored popcorn or are you a hard core regular popcorn person?

Wow, am I glad I thought to check in on this thread. When I left work, the Canucks and Stars were just going to overtime. We all left the newsroom knowing we would never get that game for the city edition.

Still, I thought after a 35-minute drive home, a bite to eat and winding down, that game would have been done for some time. Guess not. Just caught the entire third overtime.

I haven't been up this late to watch hockey since the Pens-Caps in 1996, when Petr Nedved's shot won it moments away from going to a fifth overtime. Great way to start the playoffs tonight.

Well, the Penguins' loss aside of course.

I am eating the remainder of my Subway cold cut as I finish up here at work and get some other stuff done.

Oh, and I am proud to say that I have watched every overtime minute of every game on this list of longest NHL overtime games, at least for the ones since 1996: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overtime_(hockey). Wasn't alive, naturally, for Nos. 1 and 2. :D

I got in the car from work, rolled into the local spot and watched every friggin minute of the first two overtimes and half of the third before they kicked us out. And now I don't have TV service at the house just yet (Monday at the latest!) and I'm really kicking myself for it.

    C'mon STARS!
