I have no use for AJ Burnett. I think he's the worst signing in franchise history. However, he looked good from my seat at the bar and his numbers were good.

However, was he just the benificiary of a terrible KC lineup?

I was six rows behind home plate and he was erratic to say the least. I didn't keep score but he got behind so many batters I said to my sister, "Why don't they just make the count 2-1 and speed this game up".

    And the NHL screws CBC.

Apparently half a billion dollars doesn't go as far as you'd expect.

Fresh off signing a new six-year, $500 million-plus deal with the National Hockey League, the CBC hockey folks went home Sunday with a lot less than they expected.

To be fair, that new deal doesn't kick in for another two seasons, but you'd think that kind of expenditure would put a network at the top of the league's priority list. If you did, you're wrong when it comes to the wild world of the NHL.

CBC had hoped its first traditional Saturday night spot of the playoffs would feature the Ottawa Senators taking on Sidney Crosby's Pittsburgh Penguins. Instead, that game is being played Saturday afternoon to appease NBC, meaning CBC gets the Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Devils, also known as the short end of the composite stick.

That sound you heard was about a million Canadian hockey fans making dinner reservations for Saturday night.

As a result, that match likely will be the lowest-rated Saturday night game this season. TSN's Buffalo-Islanders broadcast will probably beat CBC, which will be akin to rubbing salt and vinegar into an open cut.

    Typical NHL.

CBC paid about $60 million for hockey this year, NBC, about nothing.

A rabid dog could have put together a better playoff schedule.

It's more like why does he hate all hockey fans.

I won't get to watch the Wild except for one game in the first round.

And whatever other games NBC might broadcast. If I'm lucky.

The games are still broadcast on local cable channels (Fox Sports) for the first two rounds.

Not in Minnesota they're not.

  12. 45 will air most of the games according to the Strib today.

I am stuck listening to Kurtz and Reid on the radio via NHL.com

I can't believe Versus won't air one game of that series. This is going to be a good series.
