I always understood the rule to be one game = final, multiple games = finals.

Teemu Selanne vs. Daniel Alfredsson. Someone's going to win his first Stanley Cup. Should be fun.

I just watched 6 players being interviewed. One rule of thumb is, write it like you say it. They all said Finals. I covered the NHL for 20 years and it was always Finals. So the fucking league has changed the fucking name to Final ... idiots. I think we're sticking with Stanley Cup Finals.

Quick look at today's Toronto Star, the Sun & The Globe: Stanley Cup Final in all three.

At least all the games are all at the same time.
I think we are in for a great series. Both teams don't know too much about the other and they seem to be evenly matched on a whole.
I think the fact we have waited a year over a week for the final is crazy. All for skating, the most corrupt sport on the planet.

When's the last time the city of Toronto knew about a Stanley Cup Final(s), aside from visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame? [ducking]

Appparently MLSE has asked the Sens if the Leafs can host the parade up Yonge Street. :)

Now that would be a way to rub it into the Leafs

The teams haven't played one another, but Ottawa has a big advantage in that coach Bryan Murray was formerly Anaheim's coach/GM. He put together the team that went to the final against New Jersey and still knows a lot of those guys very well.

In fact, you could argue that he also put together a big chunk of this year's Ducks team - he brought Rob Niedermayer, Chris Kunitz and the entire line of Dustin Penner, Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry to Anaheim, plus he installed Giguere as the starting goaltender. Of course, Scott Niedermayer wouldn't have come to the Ducks if his brother Rob hadn't already been there, so fans can thank Murray for that too.
