I just went back through all the news from the race, and it only mentions him getting 15 stitches in each knee. Seems like a transfusion's something that would get mentioned.

Slightly off topic, but for my fellow cyclists -- shaven, or unshaven?

Oh, shaven, at least in the summer. In the late fall and winter, there's not as much reason to go bald...but the first day of spring is like a rite of passage for the razor.

I resisted for a few months, but went smooth and silky this summer after seeing a crash and the road rash was horrible.

My wife teases me and says my legs look much better when they are hairy. I think she's just annoyed that my legs have less stubble than hers.

When there is documentation that shaving will get me an extra 2 mph, then I'll buy a year's supply of Gillette Venus razors. Until then, however...

Then again, my last señorita was a tri-chick who, um, encouraged me successfully to go smooth. Oh well.

Well, it's not so much the speed as what Idaho mentioned, which is accident cleanup. Tidying up road rash is bad and painful, but having vegetation on your legs makes it much worse.

Uma's partner at the clinic is a competitive cyclist and races in the Masters 45 class. He told me to shave the legs 'just in case' because he's seen some really nasty wounds and infections as a result of hair down there.

Heck, shaving even helps prevent the hair pulls from those sexy bike shorts we wear.

Plus, my/your calves usually look awesome when shaved. ;)

That's what IronGirl told me. Sigh.

And so you shaved your buttcrack, thinking she'd like that, too.

    Not that talented. Or bored.

How long 'til the next stage to get this thread back on track?

OK, will Contador and Leipheimer attack together to try and take the air out of Rasmussen? Let Hincapie and Papo set the pace until the climbs and then let those two attack, work together and try to crush the Chicken.

You know if Chicken is blood doping, he'll be afraid to top off the tank with a pint or two of O+ with today's developments. If he's doping (or anyone else, for that matter) this last mountain stage will see someone fall behind and get cracked on the final HC climb.
