Billy Joe Tolliver ... man, he was here, and then he wasn't.

The other thing to remember with Idaho, is that the Vandals have become bowl-eligible. Nevada is still chasing down eligibility and is hitting its stride in this 3-game win streak, with 135 points. I can easily see Idaho losing some of its hunger because the team knows it's in a bowl game. And now they go on the road to a hot, hot team. Don't let Nevada's 35-32 win at Utah State last week deceive you because Utah State is a plucky little team that gave BYU all it could handle before BYU pulled away in the later stages.

This has the potential to be 52-21 Nevada, because Nevada needs it much more than Idaho. Desperation is a great motivator.

Boy, I say, boy, ain't nothing more exciting than talkin' WAC football!

Not that the theory might not have some validity, but I doubt Idaho can, say, lose its last five games and still get into a bowl game.

    You're right.

But I think that they celebrated becoming bowl-eligible, and so a big chunk of that hunger diminishes. They still can win the WAC, but I think we both know that ain't happening this year.

These next 4 games will prove where Idaho really is: Nevada, La. Tech, Fresno State, Boise State. The Vandals could lose all 4 easily. If they do, the finale against Utah State might decide if Idaho gets to a bowl game.

Been a long time. Can Pitt go to 7-1?

Spikes played all but one series last week. You don't think Vegas had injuries factored into this line yet?

That was so long ago, the NCAA wasn't yet out to get Jackie Sherrill. [/crossthread]

(And yeah, I know he was already at Texas A&M by then).

Hopefully, with Oklahoma-KU tomorrow, we can see a repeat from 1984.

Favored Sooners go into Lawrence with their backup QB having to start one week after the starter got hurt. Backup doesn't play well, Jayhawks win 28-11. The backup for the Sooners in that game at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence? Troy Aikman.

So "Troy Aikman" and "Memorial" -- both in the thread title -- do have a history with one of tomorrow's games.

And that's the point. At that point of the game, it makes sense to go for two to try and get it within three.

You're not bright, are you? I'M ARGUING IN FAVOR OF GOING FOR IT!
